Update for patients at Billet Lane Medical Practice.
WINTER PRESSURE ON GP PRACTICES.
As of September 2019 we will be holding ALL of our appointments for 'On the day' only. These appointments will be available at 8:30am for the morning and 2:30pm for the afternoon.
We have found that our current appointment system is not working for patients that are trying to get an appointment on the day. Therefore with the added pressure on GP services during the winter months, we have decided that all appointment we offer will only be available on the day at either 8:30am for the morning clinic and 2:30pm for the afternoon clinic. Many surgeries within Havering are already following this booking procedure, and we hope that it will make it easier for our patients to see a GP when they clinically need to.
We understand that everybody's circumstances are different so please explain to the reception staff if there is a reason this system will not work for you.
We hope that this system helps to relieve the stress of getting an appointment at the surgery. Our reception staff can also refer you to other services such as the walk-in centres and the Havering HUB to ensure that you are seen by a GP if we are unable to offer you an appointment.
As some of you may be aware, Dr Jeelani’s last day at the surgery was Monday 31st December 2018. We are sad to see him go, but wish him all the best for the future!
We are happy to welcome to the team, alongside Dr Jegede, two new GP’s. Dr Ayesha Abdullah
( female) and Dr Mirran Carpenter (Male).
Dr Ayesha Abdullah will be working 2 sessions a week at the practice.
Wednesdays 09.00-12:00 and 15:30-18:00
Dr Mirran Carpenter will be working 2 sessions a week at the practice.
Mondays 09:00-12:00 and 16:00-19:30
We have had lots of great feedback from patients about both GP’s, so are very excited to have them as part of the team.
We would like to make all patients aware that one Tuesday of every month all clinicians in Havering attend a 'PTI meeting'. This allows clinicians to remain updated with any clinical changes. This enables them to continue to provide the best possible care to their patients. We do not have any clinicians on site during this afternoon of every month therefore we are unable to hold a surgery. Our phone lines are closed for the admin staff to catch up on outstanding tasks. However the surgery doors are still open, so you are still able to collect prescriptions or come in and make a future appointment with the receptionist. The team are still here until 6:30pm, so if you do have any queries please come into the surgery.
During this time our patients are advised to contact the Havering Hub on 0203 770 1888 or visit either Harold Wood Polyclinic or South Hornchurch Health Centre.
Please see information below of which dates the surgery phone lines will be closed:
Tuesday 10th September 2019 12:30-18:30pm.
Tuesday 8th October 2019 12:30-18:30pm.
Tuesday 12th November 2019 12:30 - 18:30pm.
Thank you for your co-operation.
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know via our feedback function. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
Access & Parking
We request patients not to park in our staff car park or to block access as this needs to be left free for ambulances in an emergency. There is a council ‘pay’ car park adjacent to the Queens Theatre nearby.
The premises has suitable access for all disabled patients.
Mean Earnings Declaration
All GP Practices are required to declare mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in the practice of Billet Lane Medical Centre in the last financial year was £61,507 before tax and National Insurance.
This was for 2 full time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
